This website offers visitors ("user", "you", "your", "visitors") information, resources, and services to help pregnant, birthing, and parenting people in accessing knowledge and support. By using this website, you approve that you have read, understand, and agree to be bound by these Terms.

Privacy Policy

Community After Birth takes precautions to protect your information. Community After Birth wants you to browse our online resources and ask for information without worrying about how our organization will use your personal information. 

When you submit sensitive information via our website, your information is protected both online and offline.

Wherever we collect sensitive information, such as credit card data, through our website, this information is encrypted and transmitted to us in a secure way. You can verify this by looking for a closed lock icon at the bottom of your web browser, or looking for “https” at the beginning of the address of the web page.

While we use encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted online, we also protect your information offline. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job are granted access to personally identifiable information.

Any information you choose to provide in an email to us may not be secure.

How is information used?

In general, if you supply us with your postal address online you will receive the information for which you provided us your address. If you supply us with your email address you will receive those alerts and newsletters that you have requested. If you supply us with any other information it will be used for the purposes stated at the time you supply the information.

All email communications from us will contain instructions for unsubscribing yourself from future communications. We may also use user information internally for our own program management and evaluation.

Community After Birth does not sell, exchange, or release your personal information (name, e-mail address, mailing address, etc.) without your consent to any third parties. We do not, and will not, disclose, sell, rent or share any personally identifiable information received as a result of enrollment to receive our newsletter or comments submitted via this website. We do not share information with other organizations for commercial purposes. We do not partner with or have special relationships with any ad server companies.

Community After Birth has reasonable website security measures in place to protect the information under our control from loss, misuse and alteration. We test and review our website security regularly. 

This site contains links to other sites. Please be aware that we are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of any other site that collects personally identifiable information.

Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Compliance

The HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules protect patient privacy and ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Protected Health Information (PHI). 

While doulas are not medical professionals, we understand the sensitive and intimate nature of doula work. Because of this, our website, forms, and tracking technologies are configured to comply with HIPAA. Any communication of PHI between the website and the servers running the website are encrypted to ensure the confidentiality and integrity of data.

These activities include, but are not limited to, hiring and firing of staff, selection of volunteers and vendors, and provision of services.

Photo & Video Release

By participating in our events, you hereby grant Community After Birth the right to take photographs and videos of you and your family during public events, and to use these images and videos on our website, social media platforms, and other marketing materials for promotional purposes.

If you prefer you and/or your family's image not to be used for these purposes, you may opt-out by notifying us with an email to hello@communityafterbirth.org, prior to the start of the event.
